POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Dayton Police Department is a full service department, which consists of 5 full-time police officers and 5 part-time officers and is headed by the Police Chief. The Police Chief also serves as the Emergency Management Director. The Police Department is located within the Dayton City Hall Municipal Complex. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Department also assists the Dayton Police Department as needed.
Anyone wishing to contact an officer regarding any Police matter, emergency or non emergency, call 911.
The City of Dayton contracts with Monticello Animal Control. Please contact them directly with complaints regarding strays. Please email or call Patty Salzwedel, Monticello Animal Control Officer at 612-859-6989, or Wright County Sherriff's Department at 763-682-1162 after hours or when Patty cannot be reached.
