The Parks Department is very active throughout the year, during the Spring and Summer months we maintain sports fields for soccer, baseball/ softball, in the Fall we have both soccer and football fields to mark and mow. In the winter we flood, groom and maintain outdoor ice rinks.

Other duties include planting trees, maintenance of sprinkler systems, spray for weeds, apply wood chips to trees and playground equipment, water trees and shrubs, manufacture and maintain hockey and soccer goals, pick up garbage, maintain playground equipment, paint picnic tables and benches. Mow all of the City parks, trim trees and paint park signage.

Our baseball/softball fields are popular with both organized leagues and private individuals wanting to organize a weekend tournament, the heavy usage requires us to drag and chalk all of our fields on a daily basis.

With all the activities in our Parks, scheduling of events is critical for both the success of the event and for the Parks Department to ensure that all the necessary facilities and equipment are in place on time, therefore we put a considerable amount of effort into scheduling to avoid conflicts.
