Accessory Structures

What size residential accessory structure (garage/shed) may I build, and are there any other requirements I should know about?

To find this answer you need to know your zoning district and then consult one of the following two charts for the specific requirements.  If you do not know your Zoning District, please contact City Hall at 763-427-4589.

Septic Systems

Is a point of sale septic system inspection required?

A point of sale inspection is not required but is encouraged.  The City does require that septic systems be pumped and inspected at least once every three years and that a septic card (available at City Hall) be completed at the time of each pumping/inspection, signed by the septic inspector and returned to City Hall.

Note:  In the event of a conflict between the answers to frequently asked questions above, the City's Official Ordinances shall prevail.
