NE Dayton Contract 2, Area 3, 4, and 6 Street and Utility Improvements

Mail Box information:

  • The contractor has started to reinstall mailboxes on South Diamond Lake Road, Vinewood Lane, 139th Ave, and North Diamond Lake Road.
  • If your mail box is not in the location that the contractor put it in earlier this summer, please be sure to place it out in your front yard near the boulevard where the contractor can find it.
  • Some residents have purchased new mailboxes. Be sure to have it assembled so the contractor can get them all installed in a timely manor. Please be sure to have your house number on the mailbox to eliminate any confusion with the mail carriers.
  • The contractor plans on having all of the mailboxes installed by Wednesday November 21, 2007. The post office will continue to deliver to the temporary mailboxes until this date.

 

Restroation and Seeding information:

·        This week and next week the contractor will be installing the temporary seed and mulch in the boulevard areas.

·        Due to colder temperatures, we are passed the appropriate time of year for germinating residential lawn grass seed. In order to protect the topsoil from spring runoff and stabilize existing exposed areas, the contractor will be installing a temporary winter wheat seed mix along with weed free straw mulch.

·        Next spring the contractor will be installing the permanent residential lawn grass seed mix and hydromulch when the growing season begins in May.

·        The winter wheat will die later in the spring and mulch will decompose to aid growth for the permanent seed.

·        It’s possible a small amount of straw mulch will blow into your yard during installation. After a few final mowings or fall raking, your yard should be free of any straw.
